I had to get an associates degree before theyFeb 26 2003Computer Engineering
I had to get an associates degree before they let me in. I had a good GPA and good SATs. I am entitled to free tuition because a parent works their. I have heard rumors that they are not letting people in my sitiation in and give my spot to a paying student. I know of one person who had to sue their way in because of this.

I don't really know what to recommend other than your chances of getting in are better if you live out of state (they want your money). If you live in state consider going to Deltech first and getting all the transfer credits you can, then transfer to UD. Teachers and students there are 10 times better. http://www.central.dtcc.edu/matrix/ will tell you how classes transfer.
SAT: 1300 Male

Good grades, high SAT scores, and extra curricular activitiesFeb 12 2003Psychology
Good grades, high SAT scores, and extra curricular activities meaning anything from sports to clubs to community service are really imperitive. This school is highly competitive and admissions is a killer. Alot of people are turned away and it increases every year. A good tip is this: If your grades are not outstanding or your SAT scores not really high what you should do if you are really set on U of DE is apply for parallel. You fill out the exact same application as if you were applying to campus, the only difference is you check a box that says "I want to go to parallel" There are two parallel campuses, one in Georgetown and one in Dover both DE. It is easier to get in and is really the same thing. Once in parallel you ARE a U of DE student it's just that you live at home. U of DE rents space out at local community colleges which is where you take class. The professors are employees of UD and the courses, books, lectures, standards are the same. Then, after the first year, you simply transfer up, meaning you apply for housing on campus. You do not need to reapply for this..you are already a student you just apply for housing and here you are, in Newark!
SAT: 1140 Female
I work here so I am able to attendFeb 10 2003Political Science
I work here so I am able to attend easily, however for those trying to get in, maintain good grades, for this school will only accept you if you graduate in the top half of your high school class, and if you are a transfer, you need a good GPA. Also, do not be afriad to express yourself. While some schools want you to kiss their (anatomy), this school claims to value diversity. This means you have to kiss the democrats' (anatomies) and then come here to make waves.
SAT: 1290 Male
I transferred from another schoolDec 07 2002Business - Management and Administration
I transferred from another school. It's getting harder to get into. Get good grades!!! and do well on your SAT. It may not seem as important anymore but they seem to boast about the average GPA and SAT score of the incoming freshmen every year.

I had a hell of a hard time getting inNov 22 2002Education
I had a hell of a hard time getting in... I am an instate student... and about 80% of instate students are accepted into the parallel program... and 100% of that 80% are not happy about that decision... the same decision was made by the admissions department... if you get the same letter I got... APPEAL APPEAL APPEAL until you get what you want... I participated in the Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) thru the Academic Services Center (ASC) and that helped me get into Main Campus... You can do anything you set your mind to... I know that sounds like a clice' but and UD you can do wahtever you want... good luck
